SALES REPRESENTATIVE (MODERN LANGUAGE SPECIALIST)

Our programs are developed after extensive market research and careful consultation with educators and researchers as well as publishing and pedagogical professionals. We bring a fresh new approach to the learning of languages by integrating technology, design, content and pedagogy to make learning easier, more practical, and more rewarding.

We are currently seeking a Sales Representative to manage our MN/WI/IA/IL territory for our higher education products. This position will be based in the Minneapolis area and call on modern language programs at assigned 2-year and 4-year higher education accounts. Primary responsibilities include:

• Closing business on a consistent basis to achieve sales quotas in an assigned territory
• Developing a strong understanding of the specific needs of the schools within your territory
• Conducting professional capability presentations at various levels in the educational system within your territory
• Facility with technology and ability to demonstrate and train on use of technology
• Establishing good working relationships with educators including both current and potential customers
• Working effectively with all appropriate team members to satisfy our customers’ needs
• Utilizing telephone and e-mail to conduct a significant amount of business, reserving travel for key situations and presentations
• Utilizing Salesforce.com to build an effective territory database
• Participating in two annual sales meetings

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree and at least 2-3 years of successful publishing or other professional sales experience; ability in one or more modern languages, preferably Spanish; exceptional communication skills including written, telephone and in-person presentation skills; excellent prospecting and consultative skills; attention to detail and excellent organization skills; a strong drive to succeed; entrepreneurial spirit; excellent team skills; and the ability to work independently from a home office. A teaching background in modern language would be an asset. Some overnight travel is required.
