Modern Language Specialist
In My Words:
My passion for the Spanish language came from many family trips to Mexico where I was able to experience the amazing Mayan ruins and listen to my father speak Spanish with the locals. I studied Spanish throughout middle and high school before graduating from the University of Colorado (Go Buffs) with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish for the Professions and a certificate in Legal Translation from Universidad Complutense. I spent time as a teaching assistant in the public schools of Madrid for three years where I was able to explore each of the autonomous communities. After a quick jump across “el charco” I found myself teaching high school Science in the Dominican Republic. While there, my free time was spent diving the amazing wrecks and reefs that the island of Hispanola has to offer.
Since returning to Colorado I have worked in international education, legal interpretation, and world language publishing. I have a passion to promote language learning, bilingualism, and biculturalism for a progressive 21st century. While “off duty” you can find me mountain biking, skiing, or playing badminton and golf.
