Inventory Assistant

As an Inventory Assistant, you will be part of a tight-knit team, work with an assortment of tools and systems and get involved with a variety of projects and activities connected to our publishing operations business. Projects include, but are not limited to, data input, batch posting to Microsoft Great Plains (warehouse interactions, inventory moves, receipts, etc.), creating purchase orders, assisting with research projects, and other administrative tasks. You will have an opportunity to work with vendors, collaborate with internal stakeholders and develop am understanding of the processes and workflows within our inventory operations group. Our ideal candidate is goal-oriented, experienced in Microsoft Excel, and has strong organization, prioritization, and data entry skills as well as solid attention to detail and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a variety of team projects and administrative tasks related to our publishing business
  • Enter new items, data, and structures into MS Great Plains and Excel
  • Post inventory batches in Great Plains, including adjustments and receipts
  • Create, process, and manage steady stream of purchase orders in Workplace
  • Maintain accurate unit costs and details in database
  • Enter and manage data in Microsoft Excel, including VLookups, pivot tables, etc.
  • Maintain item data integrity in Great Plains in addition to other systems, as needed
  • Effectively and proactively escalate issues when necessary
  • Participate in other projects and tasks, as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BA / BS degree required, preferably in business, accounting, or a related field
  • 2+ year(s) experience in an administrative or data entry role
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (clear, concise, relevant, and timely), both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and data processing skills. Experience with inputting large volumes of data from multiple sources
  • Extrapolates relevant pieces of information to prepare quotes, schedules, and reports
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required with strong experience in Excel (including ability to build pivot tables, import data, create charts, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (or similar ERP), Workplace, and order entry systems a strong plus
