Senior Accountant

We're looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our tight-knit and collaborative Finance team. In this role you will be charged with processing payroll and supporting the team with monthly, quarterly and annual G/L closings including preparing and entering journal entries and keeping track of deadlines to ensure a timely close. In addition, as the Senior Accountant you’re responsible for posting journal entries, account reconciliations, process improvements, fixed asset tracking and annual audit support. Our ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, enjoys working in a high volume & fast paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, displays a high aptitude for effectively prioritizing and solving problems and is comfortable being a hands-on contributor in a small team of people who like to do things right. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual G/L closings including preparing and entering journal entries and monitoring deadlines to ensure timely close
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts including all cash accounts
  • Analyzing and preparing Financial Statements
  • Managing bi-weekly payroll process (within ADP), working closely with Human Resources
  • Maintaining the fixed asset ledger, reviewing monthly general ledger detail
  • Serving as a liaison for external audits including but not limited to annual year end and 401k audits and assisting in preparation of assigned schedules as needed.
  • Help update and suggest changes to accounting policies and procedures

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • BS in Accounting with (MBA or CPA certification preferred).
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience in a high volume environment
  • Considerable experience with and knowledge of General ledger accounting including monthly & year-end closings, financial statement development and analysis
  • At least 1+ years of experience managing payroll; experience with ADP a strong plus
  •  A high degree of diligence, fastidious attention to detail, strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • The ability to prioritize multiple ongoing high-urgency projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office in addition to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent organization skills, reliable and a self-starter coupled with excellent attention to detail and the ability to efficiently  problem solve
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data without compromising accuracy
  • Prior experience with Great Plains a strong plus
