Inside Sales (Remote)

The Inside Sales Rep will be responsible for managing a national sales territory comprised of colleges and universities. This person will be able to establish and maintain business relationships with professors and decision makers while effectively conducting  a consultative sale via the phone and email. They will have very strong time management skills, and should be a proven self-starter. Additionally, because of the nature of being an inside sales role, they will possess strong webinar skills, and excellent follow-up skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Win new business to meet / exceed sales goal within specific territory
  • Develop a strong understanding of our products and the specific needs of our customers and use consultative selling to drive growth
  • Demostrate ability to manage business and opportunity while using daily to manage territory
  • Use “smart selling” strategies to maximize effectiveness, which include phone, webinar, and email
  • Deliver persuasive sales and training presentations via webinar or phone
  • Establish strong working relationships with educators
  • Participate in two national sales meetings and a regional closers meeting in the spring
  • Work effectively with VHL team members, particularly Sales and Marketing, to accomplish goals and company objectives

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of successful publishing or other professional sales experience preferred
  • Ideally proficient in one or more foreign languages, preferably Spanish
  • Exceptional communication skills including written, webinar, and phone  presentation skills
  • Excellent at prospecting and consulting
  • Attention to detail, excellent organization, and follow through skills
  • Strong drive, entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility and team orientated
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
  • Strong desire to deliver exceptional customer service
