My language journey began in fourth grade during Madame Mellott’s French enrichment program. Once a week, she introduced me to conversational phrases, culture, and foods that opened my eyes to a world much larger than Bargersville, Indiana. This inspired me to continue learning on my own until high school. After traveling to Europe my senior year, I knew language learning would forever be a part of my life.
In college, I studied French and German education to share my passion with others. During my 28 years in the classroom, I enjoyed witnessing special moments as students connected with the content in class, on a field trip, or in another country. I even spent a month in Provence filming my daily interactions to encourage my students to use their language skills beyond the classroom.
My goal is to support educators in developing language programs that inspire learners through meaningful interactions in local and global communities. Through language education, students have endless opportunities for growth, enrichment, and discovery. Language learning changes lives.
