I came to understand the power of language through experience. I remember singing karaoke with teachers while living in the Philippines. Though I could only manage one chorus in Tagalog, we laughed, exchanged ideas, and connected across language and culture. I watched how shared words could dissolve distance, build trust, and turn unfamiliar moments into connection. Language revealed itself as more than communication, it became a bridge to culture, belonging, and mutual respect.
That realization shaped my path in language and literacy. I believe language opens doors, strengthens relationships, and brings people closer together. Helping schools and educators connect with solutions that support literacy and meaningful communication continues to guide my work.
