I was turned on to my love of French in junior high school. At first, I think I liked it because language acquisition came easy to me (unlike mathematics or economics). Later, as I traveled more, I came to realize that a language can help bridge a cultural divide when visiting places like France, Montreal, and even the Caribbean!
